Research overview

Preserve justified work
when evidence changes.

Epistemic Transition Integrity (ETI) concerns the distinctions needed for justified change. When evidence changes, the dependency record helps identify which claims need reconsideration and which retain their grounds.

01

A philosophical position

The essay defines its terms and connects system description, task, correction, and accountability. Its philosophical commitments are presented in the author’s own words.

02

A finite mechanism

The browser demonstration recomputes support in a supplied six-node graph. Alternative grounds and an independent branch make the effects of a withdrawal visible.

03

Previously excluded routes

The Reopening Probe tracks conjunctive and alternative exclusion grounds, partial records, and successive corrections. Its finite checks are software checks, not model performance measurements.

Empirical questions

Correction quality, retained capability, behavior, time, and cost are questions for evaluation. This example supplies no measurements of human–AI performance or recursive self-improvement.

05

Offline research continuity

An experimental event ledger keeps observations, interpretations, decisions, execution and verification distinct. All ten synthetic scenarios pass for the ledger and both maintained simple baselines; no human, time or model improvement is measured.

An example with visible boundaries.

The demonstration checks the consequences of a fixed, supplied graph. It neither extracts claims from prose nor validates the complete ETI runtime. Proposed definitions, conditional proofs, and executed checks remain distinct.
